The world's most luxurious hotel dominates by winning three prestigious awards in industry’s Oscars.

Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi’s iconic landmark for luxury and elegance, emerged triumphant at the recently concluded MENA Travel Awards 2006, staged annually celebrate the skills, creativity, ingenuity and triumph of the Middle East and North Africa 's growing travel industry, as well as honor the successful entrants in each of the industry categories. Emirates Palace dominated the glamorous evening by winning the highest honors - the Platinum Awards - in three categories, the most by any hotel, including Best New Hotel of the Year, Best in Convention and Conference Facilities, and Best Tourism Project.

"This is an exhilarating victory. To be recognised as one of the best is truly an honour, especially if the recognition comes from the industry’s end-users and guests given the noteworthy competition,” said Noel Massoud, General Manager, Emirates Palace. “I want to sincerely thank all our guests and corporate clients that voted for us and I want to add that through their support they have made all our efforts in trying to make Emirates Palace a truly world-class destination worth all the while.”

In receiving the awards, Massoud also paid tribute to the hotel personnel, who have all worked very hard in maintaining the high service and quality standards of the hotel from the time it opened in February 2005. “They are all instrumental in making this happen. May these awards inspire and challenge them to do better and in so doing make the Emirates Palace the best and most exciting new hotel destination in the world offering not only luxurious comfort and elegance, but also the most advanced conference and convention facilities in this part of the world."

The multiple recognitions underscore the immense impact that Emirates Palace has created in the hospitality industry since it launched last year. With its elegant

and imposing architecture, combined with opulent suites and amenities, Emirates Palace was the unanimous choice for the Best New Hotel category, easily surpassing the jury’s criteria for architectural and design merit as well as opening and post opening activity statistics, among others.

In citing the Emirates Palace for the Best Convention and Conference Facilities Award, our corporate clients cited the hotel’s superior facilities and impressive footprints, which include some of the more high-profile personalities in business, politics, sports and entertainment.

To cap its victorious evening, the Palace also received the Platinum award for Best Tourism project category firmly establishing its reputation as an internationally-recognized landmark showcasing the beauty of Arabian culture. The architectural wonder boasts a staggering 114 domes, all covered in mosaic glass tiles.

“Congratulation are also in order for CHA International, organizers of the MENA Travel Awards, for establishing the region’s most coveted travel-related awards which have spurred industry players to constantly improve service and quality standards in the industry,” added Massoud.

Titled “Celebrate the Quality Champions Awards,” the MENA Travel Awards 2006 recognized once again top destinations, as well as individual achievements. There were a total of 64 awards given out in 18 different categories that included 5 and 4 star hotels, airlines, spas (separately located or within hotels), golf clubs, car rental, duty free, conference & convention locations and tourism projects, The winners were selected by over 10,000 votes of the industry's end users, guests and clients. The glamorous awarding ceremonies included a reception, a four-course meal and excellent entertainment, in addition to the actual recognition rites.
